A big part of the problem lies in muscle weaknesses and imbalances; therefore, one powerful solution to both treat, as well as prevent, back problems is by strength training your back:
As is often the case, just a few minutes of targeted exercise several times a week can make a world of difference when it comes to strengthening the back and avoiding discomfort.
The two exercises shown in the video that can help "bulletproof your back" are:
- Bent-Over Dumbbell Rows
- Dumbbell Deadlifts
The first exercise targets the upper and middle back while the second focuses on the lower region.
When performing these exercises use a moderate weight and be sure to perform each repetition with perfect form. Do about 10-15 reps with a weight that is challenging, but allows you to maintain complete control, and do 2-3 sets of both exercises.
