What to Eat in June

It can be hard to know what fruits and vegetables are actually in season with most grocery stores keeping most produce well-stocked year round due to our global food and agricultural market. Beyond the obvious one like summer tomatoes and corn and winter squash and oranges, what's at its peak in June that you should be tossing in your cart for optimal flavor, texture, and potentially the most nutrition?

This is a general list of fruits and vegetables coming into peak season in the month of June:

  • Avocado
  • Blueberries
  • Cucumbers
  • Green beans
  • Mango
  • Strawberries
  • Kale

June Power Smoothie

A potent combination of anti-oxidants and filling fiber, this smoothie is great as an energizing breakfast or quick lunch to go. You won't be able to taste the avocado or kale but you'll still reap the benefits of the creaminess and healthy fats from avocado and fiber from the kale!
