During these times, it is more important than ever to express your love and appreciation to the people in your life, especially moms. Many moms are juggling a new way of life in addition to kids, work and maintaining a household.

While Mother’s Day is considered a once-a-year celebration, why not show your appreciation for her all month long?

Some of us are fortunate enough to be alongside family right now, but others may be staying apart – don’t let this stop you from celebrating her. Near or far, here’s how you can show your love and appreciation to your mom:

  • Try New Things, Together

Surprise her with a new recipe, game, workout, or movie to try out together. Whether in-person or virtually, it’s fun and memorable to support each other in a new activity. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that can create smiles.

  • Take a Trip Down Memory Lane

With your newfound time, create a digital or hard copy photo album to reminisce family trips, baby photos or just significant moments together. Every time she opens it, she’ll be reminded of the special times you’ve had together. You may even pick up a new scrapbooking hobby along the way.

  • Make Some Time

As we get older and busier, we can struggle to set aside time for the things that matter most. Take the time to text, call or FaceTime more often with your mom – even if it’s for a few minutes. Right now, moms just want to hear that you are doing okay and you love them; it’s that simple.

  • Clean the House

It's been said that our homes reflect how we're feeling. Given the current circumstances, your mom may feel drained by the constant, demanding efforts to keep her home safe and clean. Help her out around the house where you can! If you’re not living at home, sending sought-after cleaning supplies can help relieve stress.

  • DIY Spa Day

Create a relaxing playlist, order some nice face masks, light some candles – and voila! You’ve created an at-home spa for your mom. If far away, no worries. Build her a spa-day package with all of her favorite treats and have it delivered to her doorstep.

  • Gift a Hobby

What has your mom always wanted to do? Skydive, ride horses, rock climb – whatever it is, gift her with the experience. While she may have to wait until later to do it, this will give her something to look forward to, and you’ll be supporting a business along the way.
