6 Different Cardio Exercises You Can Do at Home

Jumping jacks, running in place, skaters - These are three great examples of simple cardiovascular exercises that you can do without any equipment, wherever and whenever you want. If you want to burn calories faster you simply up the intensity, so they also work for the beginner through advanced exerciser as well. Don't get me wrong - I love my home gym complete with my Bowflex Max Trainer, Bowflex TreadClimber and more, but the key to fitness success is mixing it up and there's nothing like a great bodyweight-only cardio session. Here are a few awesome cardio exercises to add to your home workout routine:

The cardio exercises featured in the video are:

  1. Running in place
  2. Jumping Jacks
  3. Skaters
  4. Punches
  5. Side Kicks
  6. Burpees

Try to do as many as you can of each exercise for about 30-60 seconds, depending on your fitness level. You can even increase the time, or go through them multiple times, if you feel like you're ready for the extra challenge.

The other nice thing about these exercises, is that you can mix them up in so many different ways to create variations of workouts. For instance, you could do running in place, skaters, punches, and burpees one day, then mix it up by going jumping jacks, skaters, punches, and side kicks the next day. There are a ton of combinations you could do with just six exercises!
