Fit Tip Thursday: A Quick Workout For Busy Days

The age-old concept of the sixty-minute workout is dying a slow death, and for good reason. There is nothing inherently "magical" in an exercise science sense about working out for an hour. It's the quality of the workout and the consistency of your program that matters, not the relative duration.

I would argue that, thanks to technology, we are also busier than ever before. Finding a full hour to exercise is difficult for many. The great news is that shorter workouts sprinkled throughout the day are extremely effective, oftentimes even more effective than slogging away for an hour on the elliptical trainer at the gym.

My fittest clients are often my busiest; they stay in top shape by engaging in shorter "micro-workouts" throughout their hectic days. Just because a workout is short doesn't mean it is any less important to your overall health. Here is one great example of a quick yet effective workout for busy days:
